Over 40 works by local, national and international artists set within the 5 acres of award winning subtropical garden the new sculpture park is 1 km trail for art and garden enthusiasts.
Each sculpture is numbered along the trail and a free full colour catalogue is available to take around with you with more details about the artworks. There’s a wide range of materials and concepts including 3D printed objects, cast resin, sound, sculpted wood and metal and ceramics
The sculpture park is part of the natural evolution of Wharepuke from orchard to nursery to Garden of Significance and complements the existing art based businesses, The Wharepuke Print Studio and the Art at Wharepuke Gallery already on site as well as the cottage accommodation (guests have free unrestricted entry to the sculpture park during their stay) and the café.
The sculptures change throughout the year. You can see also see works in the permanent collection by Chris Booth and Richard Parker’s on-going Pathway project – you can even contribute by laying some tiles to continue the path!
There are plant labels highlighting some of the rare and unusual plants at Wharepuke. We are working on an accompanying catalogue for the plants also.
