Our green philosophy ensures that we practice sustainable eco tourism and think about green travel so that we better our environment for future generations. Our family-run enterprises are on land that has been in our family since 1938, beginning as an organic fruit orchard.

  • our green accommodation cottages are purposefully designed for energy conservation
  • use available local goods and services
  • use organic cleaners and products
  • attempt to save water energy and detergents by encouraging reuse of sheets and towels by guests
  • recycle rubbish
  • our own sewerage system bio treats waters which end up back on the garden
  • offer local and organic food/drinks where possible

Green Location

Our subtropical eco green accommodation and activities:

  • is in the protected buffer zone for the Historic Stone Store Basin, primed to become a World Heritage Site
  • we back on to 11 hectares of nature reserve on which the Department of Conservation have walking tracks following the river and around the Kororipo Maori pa site
